Summer Art Fun: Upper Paleolithic Art

We kicked off our study of "art through the ages" today.  We started with a pretty cool digital tour of the Lascaux Caves (http://www.lascaux.culture.fr/#/fr/00.xml), which contains some of the best known examples of Upper Paleolithic art.  From there, I printed off some color pages (http://www.ivorybill.com/cbsage.htm) and let the girls paint them, while I went downstairs and made some mud (okay, it was chocolate pudding).  After they had finished coloring their pictures, I challenged them to paint them with their fingers using the pudding.  FUN!

And then Chase did some work in her etch-sketch book, where you scratch off the black to reveal color.  It kinda tied into the theme so I decided to include it.
